Greetings and Welcome! |
What should a one-year-old, not-for-profit organization look like whose mission is to be a catalyst to Christ followers wanting to be the hands and feet of Jesus doing good in our city?
I’d especially love to get the feedback and critique from those of you who have
watched and worked with us over the last year so take a minute and drop me a note
at jeff@cityconnectionsinc.org. But even more importantly, I’ve thought a lot over
recent days about God’s perspective and our approval rating with Him! How can we
know of the value He places on our work? Who does He use to communicate His satisfaction
and/or dissatisfaction? How can we discern His smile of favor?
From our limited vantage point, we are encouraged as we reflect on our “imprint”
on the landscape of the city over the last year! We’re thankful for the affirmation
we get as we “convene” gatherings of service providers and vested stakeholders in
the varied strategic focus areas. But beyond the fact we’ve had great success in
convening many different action-oriented groups, we’re humbled to see how God is
using us to be a “unifier.” As suspicion gives way to trust, we’ll be in an even
better position to address the monumental problems that plague our city.
And one thing is for certain! After a year of interjecting in all these different circles, “and what is the role of the church and faith-based organizations in all of this?”- - it is most encouraging how frequently we hear acknowledgements of the transforming power which could be realized if the Church really emerged to model the Christ-like way of servant leadership!
To that end, if you are a leader of a church in Little Rock (or in any other
city across America) who wants to see your members become actively engaged in serving
in the city in a mighty way, we would love to come alongside of you and become a
“ministry coach” to help you create an externally-focused ministry approach which
will be life changing for your members! Our particular focus this year will be helping
churches in the following areas:
Adopting a school and seeing it as your “mission field”;
Claiming a neighborhood and partnering with others to revitalize;
Creating a holistic health and wellness outreach ministry approach;
Developing mentors for our city’s at-risk children and youth.
Thanks for taking the time to peruse through the information on our website.
And one more thing, take a minute and go to this site and listen to the words of
this song, "Something Visible," which will stir your heart - -
